In February 2025, KPMG released a research paper in collaboration with DBS, unveiling the status and readiness of Hong Kong-listed consumer goods businesses in response to the new climate disclosure requirements by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). This paper, titled “Driving change: the climate disclosure of Hong Kong listed companies in sectors shaping everyday life”, reviewed the three major gaps in decarbonisation, data, knowledge, and finance. It also re-emphasised the “virtuous circle” between disclosure, transition, and valuation. KPMG’s research focuses on six sectors that shape our everyday lives, including apparel, food & beverage, hospitality, home products, logistics, and transportation & automobile, as these industries operate with complex, multifaceted supply chains, presenting distinct challenges and opportunities as they undergo the low-carbon transformation.

At this event, KPMG will share its latest findings and insights from this paper, and esteemed KPMG panellists will delve into the real challenges and practical tips facing today’s climate issues and corresponding regulatory requirements.
