Zhongshan, 9-10 April 2026 – The Austrian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong & Macau joined a delegation of foreign chamber of commerce heads and representatives of consulates from Hong Kong in a visit to Zhongshan, Guangdong, under the initiative “Visit to Zhongshan: Together for Stronger Hong Kong-Zhongshan Cooperation”.
Wilhelm Brauner, Chairman of AustroCham, noted the city’s significant transformation over the past decades, evolving into a dynamic centre for high-tech industries.
The delegation visited several key sites, beginning with the Cuiheng New District Planning Exhibition Hall, where participants were introduced to Zhongshan’s strategic development within the Greater Bay Area. Benefiting from improved regional connectivity, including the Shenzhen–Zhongshan transport link, the district is positioning itself as an attractive destination for international investment.
During the visit, delegation members explored developments in smart manufacturing and healthcare technology. At Zhongshan Xiaoshentong Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., innovative products such as intelligent mobility devices and robotics solutions were presented, highlighting opportunities in the growing elderly care sector.
The delegation also visited Akeso Biopharma, a leading biopharmaceutical company specialising in oncology research and development. The company’s advancements and international partnerships reflect Zhongshan’s increasing role in the global life sciences industry.
The visit further underlined Hong Kong’s role as a gateway for Mainland Chinese companies to access international markets. AustroCham will continue to support its members in identifying collaboration opportunities in areas such as innovation, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.
